My name is Zachary Doiron, and I’m from Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick, Canada. I’m currently a psychology and religious studies major at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. I am a blogger, freelance writer, and a film critic.
When I was a kid, movies were actually far from my main hobby. At that time, I preferred TV shows and cartoons. I found movies to be boring and too long at the time. I didn’t understand how people would watch the same movies over and over again. Now, that is pretty much what I do all day long.
Horror and thrillers are what introduced me to filmmaking, and even today, they still are my favorite genre of film, but my standard has since increased. Now, I love other genres, but I still have a hard time with romance and comedies. This love of movies is just increasing every year, and while I do not see myself in the filming business, I do admire them as the artists they are. I have a very high admiration for everyone in the arts, from fine arts to liberal arts.
In 2016, I started this blog where I could share my passion for reviewing films and writing about movies. With this blog, I found many like-minded people and many people who share my passion. I appreciated having the chance to meet so many film reviewers and film writers many of who have shown support for my writing.
Currently, I write and review films for Film Inquiry and Rotten Tomatoes. Having the pleasure to write for both of these amazing sites has given me the opportunity to better my writing and has given me a voice in the film criticism business.
